Tips for Playing

Tips for Playing

One of the things that a lot golfers forget about is their short game. They go to the driving range and hit a few iron shots, a few wedges, and as soon as they feel loose, it is onto the driver. Sure it is very important to get off the tee and get into the fairway, or at least keep the ball in play, but the place that allows you to score is from 100 yards and in. If you can get on the green and close to the hole from this distance, you will drop your scores considerably. You should spend about 75% of your practice time on the short game, which is why Lakeview is a great place to hone your game!

#1 Tip

Bring your short game and a good putting stroke.

#2 Tip

While most long hitters can reach the par 4’s in one shot, the penalty for missing the green is sometimes not worth the risk — Keep that in mind as you play the course. A 7 iron and a flip wedge shot to the green affords an easier birdie opportunity than holing one from the fairway when you hit it in the water or out of bounds!

#3 Most important tip

Have fun, enjoy the beautiful outdoors, and get a little exercise — it’s a combo that can’t be beat!
